TCESP awards citizen ombudsman seals to Cotia and Campinas

The Tribunal de Contas do Estado de São Paulo (TCESP) has awarded the ‘Ouvidoria Cidadã’ seal to several municipalities, recognizing excellence in public service ombudsman management and citizen engagement.

Cotia received the Silver seal during a ceremony in São Paulo, represented by General Ombudsman Marcela Prates. The certification evaluates the maturity and quality of services provided by municipal ombudsman offices. The initiative, which saw participation from 761 ombudsman offices, aims to strengthen democracy by ensuring citizen voices influence public management.

Campinas was also recognized for its commitment to social control and public service quality. The Campinas General Ombudsman, Marcelo Gonçalves de Souza, noted that the award reflects continuous work in analyzing and following up on user demands to improve municipal administration. The TCESP president, Cristiana de Castro Moraes, emphasized that efficient ombudsman offices transform citizen feedback into actionable data for public managers.
