Terminal Cuenca del Plata faces indefinite union strike

The TCP-Nelsury union has initiated a new indefinite strike at the Terminal Cuenca del Plata (TCP) in Uruguay. In response to the labor action, the multinational operator Katoen Natie announced that only the personnel required to maintain current minimum service levels will be working.

Katoen Natie stated that it has participated in numerous bipartite and tripartite negotiations to reach an agreement. The company indicated that it has exhausted its available negotiation margin and is currently unable to make further modifications to its existing proposals.

To mitigate the impact on vessels, cargo, and transporters, the terminal will implement measures to ensure the effectiveness of minimum services and preserve operational safety. The company remains open to dialogue and will provide updates regarding changes to the strike or operational conditions.
