TCS to acquire Porsche’s MHP consultancy in AI-focused deal
Porsche AG and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) have entered into a strategic agreement where TCS will acquire 100% of Porsche’s management and IT consultancy, MHP Management- und IT-Beratung GmbH, through a subsidiary. The transaction is subject to customary regulatory and competition approvals and is expected to conclude in the coming months.
As part of the deal, the companies have established a five-year strategic partnership focused on artificial intelligence, digitalization, and mobility. TCS will create a dedicated AI Mobility Centre of Excellence for Porsche to develop and scale AI applications across manufacturing, engineering, operations, and customer experience.
For Porsche, the sale is a component of its ‘Sportwagenschmiede ’35’ strategy, intended to sharpen the manufacturer's focus on its core automotive business. Dr. Michael Leiters, Chairman of the Executive Board of Porsche AG, stated that the move combines Porsche’s automotive expertise with TCS’s digital and AI capabilities to increase efficiency and competitiveness.
