TDED and Istanbul University launch writing academy

The Turkish Language and Literature Association (TDED), in collaboration with Istanbul University, has commenced the 2026-2027 term of its Yazarlık Mektebi (Writing Academy). The free program, which began with 70 new participants in Istanbul, offers a 15-week curriculum covering poetry, short stories, novels, essays, articles, and critical reading and writing skills.

Participants will attend 30 face-to-face lessons held on Saturdays. Upon successful completion of the program, students will receive a certificate approved by Istanbul University. TDED President Ekrem Erdem emphasized the importance of language and cultural awareness in writing, stating that writers must use language with high quality to communicate effectively with their nation and produce texts that enlighten humanity.
