Turkish Language and Literature Association activities

Overview

The Turkish Language and Literature Association (TDED) has initiated several projects focused on cultural and literary development in Turkey.

In Manisa, the TDED Manisa Branch held a meeting to evaluate previous activities and establish new goals. Branch President Dr. Muzaffer Yurttaş stated the association aims to enhance the city’s cultural and artistic life by connecting readers, writers, and artists, with a specific emphasis on engaging youth through literature.

Expanding its educational reach, TDED partnered with Istanbul University to launch the 2026-2027 term of its Yazarlık Mektebi (Writing Academy). The 15-week program provides 70 participants in Istanbul with instruction in poetry, short stories, novels, essays, and critical writing. Upon completion, students receive a certificate approved by Istanbul University. TDED President Ekrem Erdem noted that writers must use high-quality language to “communicate effectively with their nation and produce texts that enlighten humanity.”
