Tea Košir to return to family business instead of infrastructure role

Former Slovenian Member of Parliament and State Secretary at the Ministry of Health, Tea Košir, has announced she will not take a position at the Directorate for Infrastructure. Instead, she is returning to her family business, EcoSija, which produces candles from ecological materials.

Košir’s departure from political roles follows a series of developments, including her resignation from the Ministry of Health in late September and her subsequent departure from the National Assembly. She previously indicated she might remain in parliament as an independent deputy after leaving the Democrats party, but has now decided to leave the legislature entirely.

Her potential employment at the Directorate for Infrastructure had raised questions, leading to an investigation by the Commission for the Prevention of Corruption. Košir has also claimed she faced threats related to a land purchase in Bled made with her husband, suggesting attempts to cast suspicion on the legality of the transaction.
