Nghe An teacher receives 2 billion VND after saving child from accident

Hoang Thi Hien, a 32-year-old kindergarten teacher from Nghia Hanh, Nghe An, has received over 2 billion VND in donations from nearly 9,000 contributors following a severe accident. On August 28, Ms. Hien rushed to prevent a 2-year-old child from running into the street, during which she was struck by a truck.

The accident caused serious injuries to both of her legs. Due to necrosis, doctors were forced to amputate her right leg above the knee to save her life, while her left leg remains under treatment.

Following a three-day fundraising appeal by the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Nghe An province, officials including Vo Thi Minh Sinh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, visited Ms. Hien to deliver the support. The funds, collected through the provincial relief fund, aim to assist with her long-term medical treatment and recovery as she adapts to her new physical circumstances.
