Teacher in Nghe An recovers after losing leg saving student

Hoang Thi Hien, a preschool teacher in Nghia Hanh, Nghe An, is undergoing recovery after losing a leg while saving a two-year-old student from an oncoming truck on August 28. After receiving emergency treatment in Hanoi at Viet Duc Hospital, she has returned to Nghe An to continue her rehabilitation at Cua Dong General Hospital.

Nguyen Xuan Tai, Director of Cua Dong General Hospital, visited Hien to offer encouragement and announced that the hospital would cover all medical and accommodation costs for her and her family during her treatment.

Despite the physical loss, Hien expressed a resilient spirit, stating that she would still act to save her student if given the chance. She is currently focused on functional rehabilitation and learning to use a prosthetic limb with the goal of eventually returning to teaching.
