Zandvoort hosts final Dutch Grand Prix as F1 season resumes

The Formula 1 season resumes at the Zandvoort Circuit for the Dutch Grand Prix, marking the final time the event will be held at this venue for the foreseeable future due to financial and logistical challenges. The race weekend features a sprint format, adding extra competitive sessions to the schedule.

In driver news, Max Verstappen enters his home race amidst a championship battle where Kimi Antonelli holds a lead over Lewis Hamilton. Meanwhile, Carlos Sainz has secured a multi-year contract with Williams through 2027 and 2028, expressing confidence in the team's long-term project. Red Bull has also announced a contract extension with Verstappen through 2030.

Technical developments are also prominent. Alpine is introducing upgrades to the A526, though these will initially only be applied to Pierre Gasly's car, leaving Franco Colapinto to compete without them until the Italian Grand Prix. Additionally, the FIA is using the event to test new drainage filtration technology designed to capture tire wear particles and microplastics to mitigate environmental impact.
