Team17 announces Worms: Galactic Tactics for 2027

Team17 and developer Absolutely Games have announced Worms: Galactic Tactics, a new turn-based tactical roguelike scheduled for release in 2027. The game will be available on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2.

Set within a multi-stage campaign called the Galactic Gauntlet, players manage a three-worm squad to battle through fully destructible 3D arenas. The roguelike structure allows players to acquire offensive and defensive weapon modifications between battles, such as the ‘Hot Rocket’ which ignites terrain or the ‘Power Stripper’ which removes enemy armor. While players can customize their squads with various hats and voicebanks, the game also features permanent progression through upgrades purchased with in-game currency.

In addition to Galactic Tactics, Team17 and Absolutely Games are reportedly developing a separate title simply titled Worms, which aims to provide an updated version of the classic series formula.
