Team17 and Absolutely Games have announced Worms: Galactic Tactics, a new entry in the Worms franchise scheduled for a 2027 release. The title is described as a turn-based tactical roguelike featuring fully destructible 3D environments, moving away from the series’ traditional 2D views.

Players will participate in a multi-stage campaign known as the ‘Galactic Gauntlet,’ managing squads of worms to defeat a boss named Emperor Flugg. The gameplay includes roguelike elements, such as acquiring weapon modifications like the ‘Hot Rocket’ or ‘Power Stripper’ and using an in-game currency to purchase permanent upgrades.

The game is slated for release on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2. Team17 also confirmed that a separate, classic-style Worms game is currently in development.
