Teatro Trianon Viviani hosts TrianonDanza contemporary dance festival

The TrianonDanza contemporary dance festival is set to begin at the Teatro Trianon Viviani on September 25. The festival features ten scheduled performances involving seven nationally recognized dance companies.

The opening performance, titled ‘Samia’, is choreographed by Adriano Bolognino and produced by Körper – Centro Nazionale di Produzione della Danza. The piece is inspired by the true story of Samia Yusuf Omar, a Somali athlete who died in the Mediterranean while attempting to reach Europe to pursue Olympic qualification. The production uses six performers to represent the interrupted life and the broader themes of inequality and the struggle for self-determination.

Following the opening, the festival continues with ‘Storie di carta’ by Simone Liguori on September 26, which draws inspiration from literary works regarding the preservation of manuscripts and resistance.
