Technology workshops for youth launched in the Netherlands
Various technology and programming workshops are being organized for children and teenagers in the Netherlands to foster digital creativity and technical skills.
In Oud-Beijerland, the Bibliotheek Hoeksche Waard is hosting CoderDojo sessions on the first and third Saturdays of the month. Aimed at youth aged 8 to 17, these free sessions allow participants to experiment with 3D printers, laser cutters, LEGO robots, and Micro:bits in a collaborative environment.
Additionally, De Zoomerij is conducting Digiplay workshops in Dieren and Velp. These sessions focus on game design using Bloxels, where children aged 9 to 12 design physical landscapes with colored blocks that are then scanned and converted into playable digital games on iPads. The program aims to transition children from passive media users to active creators through topics like artificial intelligence and virtual reality.
