Teddy Fanani accused of assaulting driver after traffic dispute

Teddy Fanani, the Director of General Criminal Investigation (Dirreskrimum) for the West Sumatra Regional Police, is facing allegations of assaulting a driver following a traffic dispute. The incident occurred on the road leading to Minangkabau International Airport (BIM).

The driver, Bill Irzano, reported that the conflict began when he overtook Fanani's vehicle from the left side. While Irzano admitted to the improper overtaking maneuver and apologized, he denied any vehicle collision. Irzano claims that four individuals exited Fanani's vehicle and that he was subsequently struck in the eye, causing his glasses to break. Irzano has decided to report the matter to the West Sumatra Police Propam division.

Following the viral incident, public attention has turned to Fanani's financial disclosures. According to his 2024 State Official Wealth Report (LHKPN) submitted to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Fanani's total wealth is recorded at Rp5.82 billion. His assets primarily consist of land and buildings valued at Rp4.88 billion located in Halmahera Timur, Ternate, and Baturaja, alongside various vehicles.
