Tedua discusses difficult childhood and parental relationships

Italian rapper Tedua, born Mario Molinari, shared details about his difficult childhood and relationship with his parents during an appearance on the podcast ‘Passa dal BSMT’ hosted by Gianluca Gazzoli.

Molinari described growing up primarily with his grandmother in the absence of his parents. He stated that he chose to forgive them rather than harbor resentment, noting that he reacted to his circumstances with laughter and irony. He reflected that having absent parents was preferable to having problematic or abusive ones, observing that some of his peers dealt with much more violent domestic environments.

The artist also discussed his relationship with his father, whom he met for the first time at age 30. He explained that his father had been treated for twenty years for severe bipolar disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder, which influenced their connection and his decision to offer forgiveness.
