Teen on electric scooter flees police in Pabianice, Poland

A 16‑year‑old riding an unregistered electric scooter evaded police in Pabianice on 13 July 2026. The teenager ignored signals, rode at excessive speed, crossed pedestrian zones and drove on the left side of the road while recording the chase on a helmet‑mounted camera. Police pursued him on a motorcycle and stopped the pursuit in Pawlikowice, where he was detained. He was sober but faced charges for reckless driving, failure to stop for police, and operating an unregistered vehicle without insurance. The scooter was seized and towed, and the incident was handed to the family court.

Authorities highlighted the dangers of under‑age riders using illegal vehicles and urged parents to monitor their children’s road activities.
