Iran weather warnings: Thunderstorms and strong winds forecast
The National Center for Forecasting and Management of Weather Hazards has issued warnings for various weather phenomena across Iran. Sadegh Ziaian, head of the center, predicts thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds in several regions.
Northern and northwestern provinces, including Gilan, Mazandaran, West Azerbaijan, East Azerbaijan, and Ardabil, are expected to experience rain and thunderstorms. Mountainous areas such as the Alborz and Zagros ranges face risks of flash floods, hail, and lightning. Hikers and nature enthusiasts are advised to avoid these areas due to potential hazards.
In other parts of the country, including the east, southeast, and central regions, strong winds and dust storms are expected, which may lead to reduced air quality. Tehran is also forecasted to experience increased wind speeds and potential dust in the coming days.
In the south, specifically in the highlands of Hormozgan, southern Fars, and southern Kerman, convective rainfall and thunderstorms are anticipated during the afternoons and evenings over the next five days.
