Tehran police dismantle gang behind 9 billion toman clothing store robberies

Tehran police have dismantled a criminal gang responsible for a series of clothing store robberies in the Baharestan area. Authorities arrested two thieves and a fence, recovering stolen goods valued at over 9 billion tomans.

The investigation began after a clothing store was broken into during the night, with thieves escaping in a Tiba vehicle after stealing approximately 2 billion tomans worth of apparel. By reviewing surveillance footage and conducting police inquiries, detectives identified the vehicle and its owner. The owner’s spouse subsequently assisted in identifying two passengers.

One of the suspects, a repeat offender identified as Hashem, was apprehended in southern Tehran. He confessed to the crime and implicated an accomplice, Ghorban, who was also arrested in the Tehran Bazaar area. The suspects admitted to participating in six additional robberies in the Baharestan district. A third individual, Kamran, was arrested for acting as a fence, and stolen items were recovered from his hideout and returned to the victims.
