Tehran police investigate organ trafficking and kidnapping gang

A criminal investigation is underway in Tehran regarding an organized kidnapping and organ trafficking gang. According to legal representatives and preliminary reports, the gang, reportedly composed of Afghan nationals, targeted foreign citizens from Pakistan and India.

Victims were allegedly held captive in a warehouse on the outskirts of Tehran. The gang reportedly extorted families for approximately 20 million rupees, using videos of torture to coerce payments. If ransoms were not met, the gang allegedly threatened to harvest and sell the victims' organs. Seven bodies were reportedly discovered near the warehouse where victims were held.

Legal counsel noted that approximately 15 complainants from Pakistan and India have come forward at the District 27 Criminal Court. While reports suggest the gang traded hearts for roughly 15 billion tomans and kidneys for 7 billion tomans, these specific figures and the full extent of the organ trafficking network await official judicial and police confirmation.
