Tehran police solve fatal arson and murder case

Police in Tehran have concluded an investigation into an arson attack in the Nabord-e Jonubi area of the Pirouzi district that resulted in the death of a 70-year-old man. The incident, which occurred in early October, also destroyed a vehicle parked in the residence's garage.

According to Colonel Asghar Khodaei, head of the Greater Tehran Criminal Police, investigators determined the fire was intentional. The motive was linked to a domestic dispute involving the victim's daughter, who had previously been threatened by her ex-husband. Police identified the perpetrator after reviewing surveillance footage of a vehicle at the scene.

Law enforcement officials located the primary suspect's hideout in the Mashiriyeh area. However, upon entering the premises to make an arrest, officers discovered the suspect had committed suicide. The investigation into the fatal arson and murder is considered resolved following the discovery of the suspect's body.
