Tehran fatal arson and murder investigation

Overview

In early October, an arson attack in the Nabord-e Jonubi area of Tehran’s Pirouzi district resulted in the death of a 70-year-old man and the destruction of a vehicle.

Colonel Asghar Khodaei, head of the Greater Tehran Criminal Police, stated that investigators determined the fire was intentional. The motive was linked to a domestic dispute involving the victim’s daughter, who had reportedly been threatened by her ex-husband.

Following a review of surveillance footage, police located the primary suspect in the Mashiriyeh area. However, upon officers entering the premises to conduct an arrest, they discovered the suspect had committed suicide. The investigation is considered resolved.
