Iran economic update: Stock market volatility, oil exports, and automotive sector shifts
Iran's economic landscape shows varied activity across the stock market, energy exports, and the automotive sector.
The Tehran Stock Exchange experienced volatility, with significant gains in one session followed by a decline of over 22,000 units in another. Trading volumes reached 46 trillion tomans during peak activity. In the automotive sector, the cancellation of key Competition Council resolutions regarding price increases and ongoing Saipa share block offerings are notable developments. Companies like Iran Khodro and Zamyad are expected to release mid-term reports.
In the energy sector, over 5 million tons of petroleum products were exported via Shahid Rajaee Port during the first half of the year, utilizing 325 ships despite international sanctions.
Currency markets also saw movement, with the US dollar exchange rate increasing to approximately 178,406 tomans, alongside rises in the Euro, UAE Dirham, and Chinese Yuan.
