Tehran Stock Exchange index surpasses 7 million mark

The Tehran Stock Exchange index reached a significant milestone, surpassing the 7 million mark for the first time. Driven by widespread demand, the total index rose by 183,452 units, or 2.66 percent, to reach 7,091,068. The equal-weighted index also saw growth, increasing by over 43,000 units, a 2.27 percent rise.

Despite these nominal records, the market's dollar-denominated value remains below historical averages. Currently valued at approximately $100 billion, the market sits about $50 billion below its six-year average of $150.6 billion. Analysts note that inflation and currency exchange rate fluctuations have adjusted the real value of the index's growth when measured in dollars.
