Tehran Stock Exchange reaches new historical highs
The Tehran Stock Exchange has experienced a significant upward trend, with the main index reaching new historical highs. Last week, the total index recorded a 7.3% increase, marking its strongest weekly performance in ten weeks and its fifth consecutive week of growth. The equal-weighted index also rose by 6.9%, marking its sixth straight week of gains.
At the close of last week, the total index stood at 6,386,000 units, while the equal-weighted index reached 1,802,000 units. This synchronized growth between both indices suggests that the market rally is broad-based rather than being driven solely by a few large-cap stocks.
At the start of trading on Saturday, September 7, the total index surged past the 6.5 million mark, reaching 6,513,000 units within the opening minutes. Market data indicated strong demand, with 260 symbols in the buy queue and only 24 in the sell queue. Additionally, there has been a noted movement of liquidity, with funds exiting fixed-income funds to enter the equity market.
