TEKNOFEST 2026 hosts nuclear, drone, and AI technology competitions

TEKNOFEST 2026 continues to host various high-tech competitions across Turkey. In Istanbul, the Nuclear Energy Technologies Design Competition finals were held at the TENMAK Nuclear Energy Research Institute. The event featured 42 finalist teams presenting projects ranging from modular reactors to robotic maintenance systems. Notably, officials announced that the TR-2 Research Reactor has been re-licensed for renewed nuclear research and material testing.

In Batman, the second stage of the TEKNOFEST 2026 Drone Championship is set to begin, featuring 24 pilots competing in FPV racing for a chance to advance to the World Drone Cup. Meanwhile, preparations are nearing completion for TEKNOFEST Southeast, scheduled to take place from September 30 to October 4 at the Şanlıurfa GAP Airport. Local authorities report that project applications for the Şanlıurfa event have increased to 27,000.

Other notable achievements include the KTT QuickSolver team, mentored by Kayrahan Osman Özcan, securing third place in the AI-Supported Logistics Main Line Optimization Competition, outperforming 512 teams.
