TEKNOFEST 2026 hosts technology competitions in Diyarbakır and Adıyaman

The TEKNOFEST 2026 aviation, space, and technology festival is hosting various competitions across different regions. In Diyarbakır, schools from İzmir have achieved notable success. İzmir Fen Lisesi secured second place in Turkey for its project on forest fire management and resource optimization using deep reinforcement learning. Other participating institutions, including Çiğli Aydoğan Yağcı Science and Art Center and İzmir Kız Lisesi, presented projects ranging from haptic technology for visually impaired students to biological research.

Simultaneously, the Advanced Autonomous Systems Design and Operation Competition is taking place in Adıyaman. Coordinated by Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ), the event involves approximately 263 contestants from 30 teams. The competition challenges participants to develop autonomous systems where Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGVs) work in coordination to navigate simulated post-disaster scenarios using artificial intelligence and image processing.
