TEKNOFEST Quantum Technologies Competition final begins in Kocaeli

The final of the TEKNOFEST Quantum Technologies Competition in the ‘Software’ category has commenced at the Bilişim Vadisi campus in Gebze, Kocaeli. Organized through a collaboration between TÜBİTAK and ComPro, the event features 10 teams and 40 participants.

This year, participants are tasked with developing innovative solutions for the ‘Dynamic Allocation Optimization in Water Resources and Distribution Networks’ problem. The goal is to use quantum annealing and hybrid classical-quantum methods to create decision support systems that improve the efficiency of urban water distribution, addressing issues such as energy costs, network losses, and reservoir balance.

The competition includes a 24-hour Quantum Hackathon running from August 28 to August 30. Teams will be evaluated based on their code, final reports, and presentations. A total prize pool of 525,000 TL is available, with 200,000 TL for first place, 175,000 TL for second, and 150,000 TL for third. Winners will be recognized during TEKNOFEST Şanlıurfa.
