Telangana Advances Musi River Revitalization and Rythu Bharosa Farmer Aid
The Telangana state government reviewed progress on the Musi Rejuvenation Project, a flagship initiative led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy aimed at cleaning the Musi River, reducing flood risk and creating a riverfront with parks, walkways and tourism facilities. Revenue and Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy instructed that land acquisition and rehabilitation be handled humanitarianly, promising double‑bedroom houses and full legal compensation for displaced families.
In a parallel effort, the government announced the start of disbursements for the Rythu Bharosa scheme, directing cash assistance to 73.32 lakh farmers for the Kharif 2026‑27 season. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy will launch the program at Shilpakala Vedika in Hyderabad after a venue shift due to heavy rain. The first phase will transfer ₹2,482.02 crore to 41.37 lakh eligible farmers, with eligibility extended to those holding newly issued pattadar passbooks. Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka confirmed the change of venue and the continuation of a large public meeting in Khammam district.
