Telangana and Andhra Pradesh face rain and thunderstorm forecasts
The Hyderabad Meteorological Centre has forecast isolated rain, thunderstorms, and lightning for Telangana on Tuesday and Wednesday. Winds of 30 to 40 kmph are expected, and officials have advised the public to remain alert.
In Andhra Pradesh, the State Disaster Management Authority has issued a rain alert for several districts, including Alluri Sitarama Raju, West Godavari, Eluru, Krishna, Guntur, Bapatla, Nellore, and the Rayalaseema region.
Despite these short-term forecasts, meteorologists suggest that the Northeast monsoon may not provide significant relief to the region. Telangana has recorded a 23% rainfall deficit since June, with Hyderabad experiencing a 35% deficit. Experts note that unless favorable weather systems develop, the deficit could widen to 30% as the Indian Ocean Dipole remains neutral.
