Telangana and Andhra Pradesh issued heavy rain and thunderstorm alerts

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued weather alerts for Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, predicting heavy rains, thunderstorms, and lightning between September 27 and 29.

In Telangana, several districts are under watch for thunderstorms and gusty winds reaching 30 to 40 kmph. Specific districts identified for thunderstorm and lightning alerts include Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, and Jogulamba Gadwal. Hyderabad is expected to see partly cloudy skies with temperatures ranging between 23°C and 34°C.

Andhra Pradesh and Yanam are also bracing for a weather shift. Coastal regions are expected to experience light to moderate rains with winds peaking at 50 kmph in some areas. The Rayalaseema region is forecast to see thunderstorms and moderate rains through September 28. Additionally, officials are monitoring potential flood threats to the Godavari river due to heavy upstream rainfall and a depression in the Bay of Bengal.
