Telangana Assembly monsoon session faces disruptions and protests

The monsoon session of the Telangana Legislative Assembly has faced significant disruptions, hindering the discussion of key public issues. Protests and demonstrations both inside and around the Assembly led to police intervention and delays, preventing legislators from addressing major concerns affecting the state.

In response to their suspension from the official monsoon session, members of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) held a mock assembly session at the party headquarters, Telangana Bhavan. The mock session featured suspended BRS MLAs and Legislative Council members role-playing as the government and opposition.

Led by former minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav, the BRS members used the exercise to criticize the Congress government. The mock proceedings focused on issues such as irrigation, power supply for farmers, and revenue administration, aiming to highlight perceived failures in the current administration's delivery of electoral promises.
