Telangana BJP Chief writes to Rahul Gandhi in Italian over fee dues

Telangana BJP President N. Ramchander Rao has written an open letter in Italian to Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, seeking intervention regarding a massive education crisis in the state. Rao claims that approximately 40 lakh students, primarily from Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes, and economically weaker sections, are being affected by unpaid college fee reimbursements totaling roughly Rs 15,000 crore.

The BJP leader stated he chose to write in Italian, described as Gandhi’s “mother tongue,” because previous protests, hunger strikes, and appeals to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy failed to gain the attention of the Congress leadership. Rao alleged that the delay in payments has caused educational institutions to withhold student certificates, preventing many from pursuing higher education or employment. He also noted that colleges are struggling with operational costs and employee salaries.

Rao further accused the Congress government of failing to meet commitments regarding unemployment allowances and job recruitment. He reported facing multiple arrests and police action while protesting the issue and urged Gandhi to pressure the state government to clear the outstanding dues immediately.
