Telangana CEO C Sudarshan Reddy Sets July 25 Deadline for Voter Forms

Chief Electoral Officer C. Sudarshan Reddy announced that Telangana's Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls will begin on June 25, with Booth Level Officers distributing enumeration forms door‑to‑door until July 24. All completed forms must be submitted by July 25, a deadline that will not be extended. The exercise aims to cleanse the voter database by identifying duplicate, dead or migrated voters; approximately 90 lakh electors have been flagged with anomalies after cross‑checking 2.38 crore mapped voters against the 2002 rolls. Mapping has covered about 70 % of the electorate, with higher anomaly rates in districts such as Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal‑Malkajgiri and Narayanpet. Officials say most discrepancies are minor and can be corrected through verification hearings and document checks. The CEO emphasized that the SIR is not intended to remove genuine voters or target any community, and that online facilities are available for form submission. He warned of disciplinary action against officers who misguide voters or enter incorrect data.
