Telangana Chief Minister inaugurates Future City Police Commissionerate
Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has inaugurated the Future City Police Commissionerate at Ibrahimpatnam. The new commissionerate was established to strengthen law enforcement and public safety within the developing Future City region, supporting the state’s anticipated urban and economic expansion.
The jurisdiction covers 4,337.19 square kilometres, spanning six Assembly constituencies and two Parliamentary constituencies. It includes three law and order zones—Maheshwaram, Shadnagar, and Chevella—alongside 22 law and order police stations and four traffic police stations. The area is expected to see significant population growth, with projections reaching between 25 lakh and 30 lakh residents by 2030.
Carved from the existing Hyderabad, Cyberabad, and Rachakonda police commissionerates, the new framework is designed to modernize policing and align with new criminal laws. The commissionerate is also responsible for safeguarding the 19,333-acre development area under the Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation.
