Telangana Future City police reorganization
Overview
The Telangana government initiated a major restructuring of law enforcement to support the development of the Future City region. Initially, the government approved the reorganization of the Future City Police Commissionerate, which included creating new law-and-order divisions in Amangal, Kothur, and Moinabad, as well as establishing dedicated women police stations and expanding traffic infrastructure.
Following these administrative preparations, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy officially inaugurated the Future City Police Commissionerate at Ibrahimpatnam. The new jurisdiction, carved from the Hyderabad, Cyberabad, and Rachakonda commissionerates, covers over 4,337 square kilometres. The framework is designed to modernize policing and manage the anticipated population growth in the area, which is projected to reach up to 30 lakh residents by 2030.
