Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy Accuses BJP of Seat‑Stealing and Threatens Centre Over Infrastructure
Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy publicly accused the BJP of orchestrating a "seat‑stealing" scheme in the Rajya Sabha nomination process, likening the party’s tactics to authoritarian regimes and claiming the BJP forced returning officers to act under partisan influence. He dismissed rumors that he praised Adolf Hitler as fabricated propaganda and criticised the Union government, specifically Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy, for stalling major projects such as the Hyderabad Metro expansion, the Regional Ring Road and the Tummidihatti lift‑irrigation scheme.
Reddy also used recent infrastructure launches – the foundation stone for a 240‑acre International Integrated Fruit Market and the inauguration of the Future City Development Authority headquarters – to warn the centre and rival BRS party that Telangana will not tolerate delays in federal clearances or agricultural procurement. He demanded that the Union purchase the state’s target of 7.5 million tonnes of paddy by mid‑June and warned of public resistance if farmers are left stranded, signalling a heightened political confrontation with New Delhi and opposition forces.
