Telangana CM Revanth Reddy meets US Ambassador Gor to push student visas
Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy held a 30‑minute courtesy meeting with U.S. Ambassador to India Sergio Gor in New Delhi. The chief minister asked the ambassador to increase the number of U.S. student visas for Telangana applicants, to ensure timely visa appointments, and to expand interview slots. He also urged simplification of H‑1B visa processing, renewals and stamping for Telangana‑origin professionals, and requested advance notice of any changes to U.S. visa rules.
Reddy highlighted the state’s investment potential for U.S. companies in sectors such as information technology, artificial intelligence, life sciences, pharmaceuticals, startups and advanced research. He sought greater collaboration between U.S. and Telangana universities and expanded student‑exchange, research and skill‑development programmes. Ambassador Gor pledged full cooperation to deepen trade, investment, cultural exchange and people‑to‑people ties between the United States and Telangana.
