BRS chief K.T. Rama Rao slams Telangana CM Revanth Reddy over irrigation, metro and party disputes

Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K.T. Rama Rao accused Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of neglecting the nearly completed Palamuru‑Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme in the former Mahabubnagar district. He warned that the decision to keep the project on hold has deprived "lakhs of acres of agricultural land of irrigation benefits" and predicted a defeat for Reddy in the Kodangal constituency.

Rao also alleged that Reddy backstabbed Congress leader Meenakshi Natarajan by framing a false case to block her Rajya Sabha nomination, labeling the Congress government an "utter flop" for failing to deliver on promised jobs, women’s welfare schemes and unemployment allowances.

Further criticism focused on Reddy’s inability to secure Centre approval for Hyderabad Metro Phase‑II. Rao said, "Chief Minister Revanth Reddy must explain to the people of Hyderabad why he could not secure this crucial project," portraying the failure as evidence of administrative incompetence.

Amid the political tussle, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah are slated to make regular visits to Telangana to energise the BJP ahead of municipal corporation elections and the 2028 Assembly poll, signalling a heightened national‑level campaign in the state.
