Telangana CM Revanth Reddy announces digital governance committee and new welfare programs

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy of Telangana approved the formation of an official committee to strengthen digital governance in the state, directing it to submit a report within 100 days. He ordered that data on contract and outsourcing staff be fully digitised and that salaries be paid on the first day of each month, with the goal of improving public service delivery and ensuring welfare schemes reach beneficiaries directly.

Reddy also outlined a series of welfare and education initiatives, including a breakfast scheme for government‑school children and a similar program for teachers, as well as the inauguration of a Balamrutham plant to produce pre‑cooked food for children under six. He highlighted women‑empowerment measures such as free RTC bus travel for two crore women, allocation of houses in women’s names, free electricity units, and a target to make one crore women millionaires by 2034. The CM emphasized that these actions are investments in health and education rather than vote‑bank politics.
