Telangana CM Revanth Reddy announces foreign study tours for teachers

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy announced that the state will arrange annual foreign study tours for government teachers, with the government covering all costs, mirroring the practice for IAS and IPS officers. The tours are intended to upgrade teachers' skills, expose them to international education systems and improve the quality of schooling in the state.

The CM instructed officials to submit a detailed action plan by December, grouping schools by mandal and ensuring each teacher can benefit. He highlighted that the state spends about ₹1.08 lakh per student and noted reforms such as free breakfast from nursery to class 12, teacher recruitment and promotion reforms, conversion of ITIs into ATCs, and the establishment of a Skills University. Revanth Reddy defended retaining the education portfolio against opposition demands, emphasizing the government's commitment to education for the poor.
