Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy attacks BRS over corruption and unveils $3 trillion development vision
Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda claimed the Telangana government was funneling funds to Congress leaders, accusing Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy of mismanaging projects such as Kaleshwaram and a double‑bedroom housing scheme. In response, Revanth Reddy labeled former chief minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR), his son K.T. Rama Rao and nephew T. Harish Rao as “financial terrorists” for alleged corruption in the Kaleshwaram irrigation project and the debt burden left by the previous BRS regime.
Reddy also outlined an ambitious economic agenda, aiming to transform Telangana into a $3 trillion economy by 2047, improve education rankings, and create a pollution‑free urban core. He urged opposition parties, including the BRS, to allow his government to work without daily political attacks.
BRS leaders pushed back. Working President K.T. Rama Rao warned that the Congress is losing ground and predicted a BRS return to power with around 78 seats in any imminent election. Party president KCR’s daughter, K. Kavitha, ruled out re‑joining BRS, demanding the party distribute alleged corruption money to martyrs’ families and calling for coal block allocations to the state‑run Singareni Collieries.
Meanwhile, BRS appointed Rajya Sabha member Vaddiraju Ravichandra as the leader of its parliamentary party, signalling internal consolidation after the party failed to win any Lok Sabha seats in the 2024 polls.
