Telangana delegation seeks global partnerships in London

A Telangana delegation, led by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, is pursuing several strategic international partnerships during a visit to London to establish Hyderabad as a global knowledge and innovation hub.

The University of London is currently working toward establishing a campus in Hyderabad. This initiative involves discussions with various academic bodies, including the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), to offer a wide range of educational programs.

Additionally, the University of Cambridge has expressed interest in collaborating with the state on research, academic programs, and entrepreneurship incubation. In the sports and technology sectors, Liverpool FC is exploring a partnership with Telangana focusing on life sciences, technology, and the creative economy, with a delegation expected to visit Hyderabad in October.

During the trip, the Chief Minister also visited Ambedkar House in London, describing the experience as an inspiration for social justice. Meanwhile, political opponents in India, specifically the BJP, have criticized the Chief Minister's meetings with certain UK-based authors and academics, questioning the purpose of his international engagements.
