Telangana CM Revanth Reddy Urges Party Leaders to Supervise Electoral Roll Revision
Telangana Chief Minister K. Revanth Reddy warned Congress party leaders that any negligence in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls will not be tolerated. In a virtual meeting, he ordered ministers, MLAs, MPs and party in‑charges to work in the field, monitor the process and ensure all genuine voters are covered before the extended deadline of August 3. He announced that ten ministers will hold review meetings across districts on Monday and that a comprehensive assessment will be presented on July 30.
At the same time, senior regional leader K. T. Rama Rao (KTR) publicly disputed the CM’s statements on the timing of the next state election. While Reddy maintains that the election will be postponed to 2029 because of the pending delimitation of constituencies, KTR insists the poll could be held in 2028 and that former chief minister K. Chandra Reddy will return to office. The clash underscores competing narratives ahead of Telangana’s next electoral cycle.
