Telangana conductor dies after allegedly being pushed from moving bus

Gundla Pravalika, a 24-year-old conductor for the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC), has died in a Hyderabad hospital following an incident on October 25. The conductor had been undergoing treatment for ten days after she was allegedly pushed from a moving bus during a dispute with a passenger.

The altercation reportedly began over a disagreement regarding ticket fare and the return of change for a 100 rupee note. A passenger, identified as Mounika, allegedly pushed Pravalika from the vehicle near Mittagudem village. Pravalika fell onto the road and was subsequently run over by the rear wheels of the bus, sustaining critical injuries to both legs.

Police have taken the accused passenger into custody and registered a case. Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar expressed condolences to the family. The state government has announced 10 lakh rupees in ex gratia financial assistance, along with promises of a job for Pravalika’s mother and the allotment of Indiramma houses to the family.
