Telangana bus conductor death

Overview

On October 25, a female TGSRTC bus conductor, identified as Pravallika, sustained fractures to both legs after she was allegedly pushed off a moving bus by a passenger, Maunika, in the Bhadradri Kothagudem district of Telangana. The altercation reportedly began following a dispute over change for a 100 rupee note near Mittagudem village.

Pravallika was treated at Bhadrachalam Government Hospital before being transferred to Hyderabad for further medical care. Police registered a case against Maunika for voluntarily causing hurt to a public servant, and the passenger was taken into custody and later released on surety.

On November 4, it was reported that the 24-year-old conductor died in a Hyderabad hospital from her injuries. In response, Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar expressed condolences. The state government announced 10 lakh rupees in ex gratia financial assistance, a job for the victim’s mother, and the allotment of Indiramma houses to the family.
