Crime rates in Telangana have increased by 7.15 percent over the three-year period from 2023-24 to 2025-26. According to data presented by Director General of Police CV Anand during a crime review meeting, total crime cases rose from 265,377 to 284,363.

Significant surges were noted in specific categories: narcotics-related cases jumped by 46.10 percent, rising from 2,026 to 2,960, and organized crime cases saw a massive increase of 1,704 percent, climbing from 25 to 451. Traffic offenses also rose by 9.48 percent.

Conversely, certain crime types saw a decline. Cybercrime cases dropped by 13.29 percent, and economic offenses decreased by 13.28 percent. Serious crimes also saw a 10.33 percent reduction, falling from 7,019 cases in 2024-25 to 6,294 in 2025-26. In Hyderabad specifically, serious crimes decreased by 26.23 percent.
