Telangana Election Commission urged to include all qualified voters in revised voter list

AIMIM party leader Asaduddin Owaisi appealed to the Election Commission to ensure that the names of every eligible voter are reflected in the upcoming Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll in Telangana. The SIR exercise, which will commence on June 15, involves ballot‑level officials touring households for about a month to verify voter details, some of which date back to 2002. Owaisi warned that monsoon conditions could hinder the field work and stressed that the right to vote is essential for poor citizens. He asked the commission to guarantee full inclusion before the draft list is released at the end of July and the final list is published in early October. In his remarks, he also linked the current global fuel‑price pressures to actions by U.S. President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
