Telangana healthcare projects to be completed by December 2027

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has announced that several major healthcare projects, including the new Osmania General Hospital, TIMS hospitals in LB Nagar and Alwal, and the Warangal Super Specialty Hospital, are scheduled for completion by December 9, 2027. Once finished, these facilities are expected to increase the state's total hospital bed capacity to approximately 10,000.

To ensure high-quality care, the Chief Minister directed officials to operate the new TIMS hospitals at corporate standards to provide accessible super-specialty treatment for poor and middle-class citizens. He also proposed providing incentives to super-specialty doctors willing to work additional hours in government facilities. Each hospital will be managed by a dedicated director to oversee operations and patient facilities.

Regarding healthcare spending, Reddy stated that the government has allocated Rs 21,800 crore to the Medical and Health Department over the last two years. This includes Rs 2,700 crore under the Aarogyasri scheme and Rs 2,526 crore through the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, totaling Rs 5,226 crore dedicated to healthcare support for the poor.
