Telangana High Court issues notices to BRS MLCs in Speaker abuse case

The Telangana High Court has issued notices to Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLCs Tata Madhu and N Naveen Kumar Reddy following a police petition to cancel their bail. The case involves allegations of abusive remarks made against Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.

The incident reportedly occurred on September 7 when police intercepted BRS legislators at the Assembly entrance. Police have argued that the failure to remand the accused, despite allegations of using vulgar language against a constitutional authority and attacking personnel on duty, could encourage similar conduct. The court has directed the MLCs to file responses and adjourned the matter to Wednesday.
