Telangana issues 2 GW renewable energy tender

The Telangana Renewable Energy Development Corporation Limited (TGREDCO) has issued a tender to select developers for 2,000 MW of firm and dispatchable renewable energy round-the-clock (FDRE-RTC) power. The projects, which can be located anywhere in India, will be developed under a build-own-operate model through tariff-based competitive bidding with 25-year power purchase agreements.

Selected developers must integrate renewable energy projects with energy storage systems and handle land identification, installation, ownership, and grid connectivity. The tender specifies strict demand fulfillment ratios: a minimum of 90 per cent during peak hours, 50-60 per cent during solar hours, and 70 per cent during remaining non-solar hours.

The buying entity will designate six peak hours daily between 18:00 and 10:00 the following morning. Full project capacity must commence supply within 24 months of the effective date of the agreements. The deadline for online bid submission is November 4, 2026.
